I like to think that Korra and Amon learned something from each other.  Regardless, they certainly did change each other forever, in one way or another.

There’s an Amorra AU where Amon kidnapped Korra and raised her as his own; he’s totally Gothel.  While not ideal for romance, it’s a very good read.  It’s not the Dream of the Lotus in Bloom.  The one I’m thinking of is a oneshot.  I’ll have to find it. >_<

The wicked sea witch warlock (Noatak) lures the impressionable mermaid (Korra) to his lair, promising her legs so she may pursue her hot-headed, human prince (Mako).  What is the price she must pay?  Her bending abilities and her voice (hey, two legs, two deals!).  Mwhahahahaha!

Watching the mermaid princess with the human prince, the sea warlock soon falls for her and begins to sabotage her not simply to keep her from regaining her abilities, but so he may marry her when she returns to her fishy form.  Why not?  He wants to rule the undersea, he may as well take her as his Queen, yes?

Also, Lieutenant as an electric eel.

The Princess and the Frog: “I Got Friends On The Other Side”

Prince Noatak gets turned into a frog-salamander by a masked hoo-doo man!  While his servant, Hiroshi, masquerades as Noatak, Noatak stumbles upon Korra, who appears to be a princess at first.  Of  course, he’s wrong, and they’re both now frog-salamanders.  Enter Tahno, the alligator-cat, and Bolin, the firefly-moth, and throw in Asami as and Lieu as Charlotte’s daddy! >_>

Treasure Island “I’m Still Here”

A delinquent with a map, Korra helps to lead a search for Treasure Planet.  She makes an unlikely friendship with the ship’s chef, Noatak, a man who wears a mask to hide the alleged burns that mars his face.  In truth, he is the dread pirate Amon, seeking fortune from Treasure Planet in order to fund a planet for non-benders, where they are not discriminated or made “slaves”.  What happens in the end is your choice.

Anonymous asked: My theory is that Tarrlock wasn't intentionally lying: his memory was just faulty. His childhood was a long ass time ago, and if Amon was the better bloodbender, then it could have seemed to Tarrlock that he enjoyed it (what with the praise he received from their father).

That makes sense, too, and keeps Tarrlok likeable. XD  Still makes me wonder why Tarrlok would seem to enjoy it if he didn’t like hurting others, though. 

TLOK: Amorra?

So, I have a sneaking suspicion that Mike and Bryan wrote this series to…confound Zutarians (and all shippers, really).  How?  WELL, remember all the Zutarian “hints” that fans SWORE were pointing to Zutara?

“Kataang is too obvious!”  - After the last episode, Makorra seems too likely.  And, frankly, I’ve never been a fan.  Mako is so droll. 

“Opposites attract!”  - Well…  A non-bending radical and the Avatar.  Enough said.

Not to mention the whole Amon’s backstory (which I’m not sure if I believe) where his face is all scarred up from being burnt by a firebender.  So, Amon is scarred and sports as mask…very Zuko-esque.  Meanwhile, Korra is drowning in love interests and is Water Tribe. 

OH, added crazy: Zuko is four letters, as is Amon; Korra and Katara both start with Ks.  (What better way to throw a nod to Zutarians by being super sneaky like this?  Seriously…I would do it.  It’s like being nice and trolling at the same time!)

Does anyone else get this excitement when they see Amon and Korra on screen together, too?  Cause, I seriously feel so much tension between them.  Sure, they’re enemies, but…I don’t know.  I feel like more could be there.

In other words: Amorra has some interesting dynamics and, if it can be pulled off, I’d support it.

Also, I still hope Lin Bei Fong is Zuko’s and Toph’s daughter.

Hard Water

Inspiration abound!  Another drabble!

Water droplets on my eyelashes,
they’re not tears, just city water
from the showerhead. They cling
to me, falling in fat droplets one
after another, dancing with dead
skin cells in the drain. I shed
the day’s trivialities, left with scars
from more pressing worries and fears.
As I step from the shower, continuing
my routine, I hope those scars will fade,
just a little, by the time I wake tomorrow.

Out of Nowhere

Just a walk, to clear my head, my thoughts.
Get outside, let the toxins ooze from my pores
while my sneakers tromp over frantic ants.
Flora and weeds persistently grow in cracks,
ignoring the solemarks on their buds and they
continue to grow, to flourish, to live. I wish
I had their persistence, their insistence.
But my spine isn’t weaved with nature; it’s cold,
stark bone that cracks as the vehicle’s bumper
plows into me. The tarmac smells like burning
charcoal, tires spin, rubber melting on the pavement,
skidmarks left on the buttercup yellow median.
